             Hunting
Upland Game Bird Hunting at Cypress Valley offers some of the best game bird shooting in Texas. Each hunt is guided by an experienced handler with well trained pointing and flushing dogs. Our management is aware that sportsmen and women demand a hunt that is sporting. Special emphasis is given to our game management program to provide hunters with plenty of fast flying birds!

Hunts offer a "mixed-bag" of pheasant, chukar partridge and bob white quail. Our unique use of retrievers as flushing dogs produces flushes which are virtually indistinguishable from those in the wild.

Our season begins in September and extends through April for the upland game birds and runs the legal seasons for native game.

As the preserve is a private, licensed hunting club, there are no bag limits. We do not charge "extra" for game taken in excess of an arbitrary limit. Hunts are only limited by time and the hunters' ability.

             Sporting Clays
Sporting Clays is America's fastest growing shotgun sport and Cypress Valley has one of the oldest as well as finest sporting clay courses in the nation.

An unusual aspect of Cypress Valley Sporting Clays is the field design and use. The course has the flexibility of being changed easily and often so that they hunter can practice "instinct shooting" rather than learning specific shots. After all, it is seldom that birds fly the same pattern each time you go hunting!

Whether you're headed for a weekend of dove or duck hunting in Texas or a week of shooting driven grouse in Scotland, Sporting Clays will give you the needed practice to get ready and improve your chance for fun and success.

We have 20 fields for your shooting experience. Available are two "high" towers along with many medium (14' to 20') towers.  Chondels, rabbits, battaues along with midis, minis and standards.

Sporting Clays and "Five Stand" are available for competition, practice, a warm-up prior to going into the fields for birds or just for fun!

The Arnow's recent catch. Good job!

Lago Escandito provides an optional benefit to membership at the Preserve. Stocked with Florida Hybrid bass, blue gills, red eared perch, bull-head minnows and cats, this is a great amenity for spring and fall afternoons…practicing your fly casting or just lounging on the bank…or on Isla Perdita!

The kids love cooling off on hot summer afternoons and sometimes the old folks cannot avoid joining it the fun.

 The Lodge

Staying Over for an evening meal is a great opportunity to relax and watch a "Hill Country" sunset in the peace and quiet of the great Texas outdoors!! Afterwards, wander out by the fire-pit and spend a while watching the "Texas Television". It just doesn't get any better than that..

Our Lodge is a spacious, comfortable place to meet with friends before and after your hunt.

The fireplace has the amazing ability to draw the best stories out of every hunter!  Just sit down, have a drink and listen to tales of hunts and dogs and friends.
