Staying Over for an evening meal is a great opportunity to relax and watch a "Hill Country" sunset in the peace and quiet of the great Texas outdoors!! Afterwards, wander out by the fire-pit and spend a while watching the "Texas Television". It just doesn't get any better than that..

The fireplace has the amazing ability to draw the best stories out of every hunter!! Just sit down, have a drink and listen to tales of hunts and dogs and friends.

The Party Barn & Special Functions... One of our specialties!

Cypress Valley is always pleased to have an opportunity to offer assistance with the planning of special events.
With the capacity to seat more than 160 inside for a meal, out Party Barn is great for special functions.
We have put on shoots and parties for charity fund raising, birthdays, weddings, business entertainment and just about everything you can imagine.
The itinerary usually includes a round of Sporting Clays and a hearty, country meal, But parties can certainly include Upland Bird Hunting, "5-Stand", and more elaborate parties with music and dancing!!
The Staff at Cypress Valley is available at the outset to assist with the planning to insure that the host has thought of as many variables as possible. We insure that the schedule includes each of the activities desired and that the program meets any time constraints wich may exist. The early, proper planning of Special Functions is important to insure that the event is both fun and smoothly executed.
A Special function schedule will begin with a discussion of safety. When everyone is ready, groups head for the course.
Following the Sporting Clay round, there might be time for a round for "5-Stand" with plenty of spectators ...or just head back to the Party Barn or Lodge for hors d'oeuvres and refreshments.
After the guests have returned from the course, have cleaned and put away their guns, it's time to ring the dinner bell!!
If you have an idea for a special function...with family and friends...office staff...clients or customers, the Preserve is ready to discuss the details. We will help you put together a......."Texas" time to remember.

Upland Game Bird Hunting at Cypress Valley offers some of the best game bird shooting in Texas. Each hunt is guided by an experienced handler with well trained pointing and flushing dogs. Our management is aware that sportsmen and women demand a hunt that is sporting. Special emphasis is given to our game management program to provide hunters with plenty of fast flying birds!

Hunts offer a "mixed-bag" of pheasant, chukar partridge and bob white quail. Our unique use of retrievers as flushing dogs produces flushes which are virtually indistinguishable from those in the wild.

Our season begins in September and extends through April for the upland game birds and runs the legal seasons for native game.

As the preserve is a private, licensed hunting club, there are no bag limits. We do not charge "extra" for game taken in excess of an arbitrary limit. Hunts are only limited by time and the hunters' ability.
